Healthy Choice of the Week: WATER!

Healthy Choice of the Week: WATER

It sounds like a no-brainer, but a lot of people don’t drink water! They drink soda or other sugary
beverages. Sure, water is in those drinks, but there’s nothing like a cold glass of refreshing water!

Water not only hydrates you, but helps to clean your mouth of toxins and foot that is stuck in your teeth from after you ate. Drinking water helps to keep your gums hydrated and helps to produce saliva in your mouth, which deposits essential minerals into your teeth.

So the next time you have a meal or snack, fill up a cool glass of water instead of soda or juice. Your body needs it and your teeth benefits from it!

Let us know if you get your eight glasses a day on our Facebook page!

Home Care – Cleanings & Prevention!

To keep that beautiful and healthy smile for a lifetime, you must have a balanced personal home care plan!

Eating -The first step in personal home care starts with what you eat. Fruits and vegetables help to
create balanced meals. While snacking (limiting sweets), should be reduced.

Tooth Brushing – Make sure to brush your teeth at least twice a day. If possible, brush after every meal. Electric toothbrushes are recommended, as they are easy to use and are efficient at removing plaque.

Flossing – Flossing Daily is the best way to clean and remove plaque from between your teeth. If you have trouble, floss holders are recommended.

Rinsing – Rinse your mouth after brushing and after eating, if you are not able to brush. Mouthwash or other over-the-counter products can be used, but it is a good idea to consult with your dentist first.

Following these steps can help to prevent future problems and keep your smile nice and bright! For information on cleanings or other teeth services, contact All Brite Dental at one of our offices!

Sesame seeds are rich in calcium, which helps to keep your teeth and bones healthy. So use some sesame seeds in your next recipe, or throw some in your salad!
