What Can Laser Dentistry do for You?

Laser dentistry is becoming increasingly more and more popular. Many people who have a fear of the dentist or get anxious before dentist appointments, have found that laser dentistry provides them with the safety and comfort they’re looking for. There are many different types of benefits and procedures that you can get done using laser dentistry.

Some procedures that can be done using laser dentistry involving hard tissue are:
  • Cavity Detection- low intensity soft tissue dental lasers can be used for the early detection of cavities by providing a reading of the by-products produced by tooth decay
  • Dental Fillings & Tooth Preparation- Laser dentistry can eliminate the process of having to get a local anesthetic injection before a dental filling. Lasers are also capable of killing off bacteria that is located inside a cavity which eventually will lead to tooth restoration!
  • Tooth Sensitivity- Laser dentistry can also be sued to seal tubules which are located in the root of the tooth. This is the area responsible for hot and cold tooth sensitivity.

There are also procedures that can be done involving the laser on your soft tissue (gums):
  • Crown Lengthening
  • Muscle Attachment
  • Soft Tissue Folds
  • Gum Reshaping

Lasers Are The Future of Dentistry!

Over the past few years, laser dentistry has become increasingly more popular.  Laser dentistry has also played a major role in early detection of various oral health issues, improving precision treatment and reducing the pain and recovery time for patients.

There are many benefits to laser dentistry as well. Soft tissue lasers can be applied to identify cavities at earlier stages to reduce the damage to your teeth. Lasers can also be used in dental fillings and to seal tubules that are responsible for tooth sensitivity. Lasers can also be used in reshaping gum tissue, crown lengthening, removal of soft tissue and muscle attachment.

Many dentists believe that lasers are the future of dentistry!

What Are The Benefits of Laser Dentistry? Find Out Here!

Laser dentistry is now more advanced than ever before! New laser technology is able to pick up on tooth decay at its earliest stage! Normally, dentists have to wait to see tooth decay on an x-ray when it is already at a late stage. The laser allows for early detection!

What do you think about laser dentistry? Have you considered it? Watch the video below for more information on the benefits of laser dentistry! Also, for more information call All Brite Dental or visit on Facebook

All You Need To Know About Laser Dentistry!

Laser Dentistry uses a specialized laser to produce an intense, narrow beam of light energy that, when in contact with tissue,  causes an immediate reaction that can remove or shape tissue.

Lasers were first introduced to dentistry in 1990 as a safe and effective treatment that helps with various dental procedures as well as other ordinary dental instruments.

Lasers are often used in many cases, for many different reasons. For example, lasers can:
-reduce the discomfort of canker and cold sores
-expose partially erupted wisdom teeth
-remove muscle attachments that limit proper movement
-manage gum tissue during impressions for crowns or other procedures
-remove overgrown tissues caused by certain medications
-perform biopsy procedures
-remove inflamed gum tissues and aid in the treatment of gum disease
-remove or reshape gum and bone tissues during crown lengthening procedures
-help treat infections in root canals
-speed up tooth whitening procedures

One reason why Laser Dentistry is becoming so popular is due to the benefits it provides. It often prevents the use of the drill or administer anesthesia, which results in a more relaxed dental experience for the patient, as well as providing a more precise result that leads to less symptoms and healing time with traditional therapies. Lasers  also reduces the amount of bacteria in both diseased gum tissue and in tooth cavities and controls bleeding during surgery.

Lasers are just as safe as other dental instruments. However when your dentist performs a laser procedure you will be asked to wear special eye glasses to protect your eyes from the rays, just as you would sunglasses.

Types of Lasers!

Waterlase MDLaser dentistry is becoming increasingly more popular. All Brite Dental features a few different types of lasers to fit your every need.

The first type of featured laser is the Diagnodent Laser, which is a cavity detector. This laser finds cavities in their earliest stages by using a healthy tooth in your mouth, that has no fillings or cavities and uses it as a baseline or zero reading. The laser then compares the amount of fluorescence/chaulkiness (breakdown of enamel due to acid) in the groove of each tooth to the baseline tooth. By detecting the cavity early enough, you only have to remove a little bit of the structure to place the filling! The bigger the filling, the weaker the tooth!

The second type of laser is The Waterlase MD, which is the hard/soft tissue laser. This laser energizes water droplets to remove and cut tooth structure and gum tissue without anesthesia, in most cases, with no pain or numbness at all! All the patient will feel is a fine water mist. The laser prepares the tooth surface for a tooth colored (bonded) filling increasing the bond strength by 50%. This laser also works miracles on cold sores in the mouth and lip by instantly stopping the pain and healing it twice as fast. Also, the chance of the cold sore reoccurring in the same spot is slim to none!

At All Brite Dental, we use a revolutionary 4 step approach to getting your teeth their cleanest. Most dentists use a 2 or 3 step process, but we use a 4 step process at no extra cost. We start with a painless laser that kills bacteria between your teeth and in the gums to prevent cross contamination during the cleaning process. After this, we use ultrasonics and hand instruments to remove plaque and tartar. The final step is to smooth and shine your teeth with a polishing paste. You’ll surely feel the difference!
